The National Federation of Roofing Contractors, Stone Federation GB and British Geological Survey Building Stones Team joined up to deliver a series of CPDs to members of Charted Institute of Building Scotland, Architecture and Design Scotland on 25 October and 29 November at the Glasgow School of Art and A&DS Edinburgh offices respectively.

The National Federation of Roofing Contractors delivered a presentation on Flat Roofing, highlighting the various options when refurbishing a flat roof, health and safety requirements and the safe use of heat, which was particularly relevant for Glasgow School of Art.

BGS Building Stones Team gave a brief history of the building stones of Scotland and highlighted the importance, and reasons, why stone matching should be undertaken in all repair and renovation projects of stone buildings.

Stone Federation GB highlighted the best practice for the repair and restoration of stone buildings and how to determine what type of repair is the most appropriate.

The events were very well received and we have already agreed to deliver other CPDs in 2018. These will be free for everyone to attend and details will be promoted through this website in due course.
