Following the huge success of previous traditional building skills demonstrations in Glasgow, the Glasgow Traditional Building Forum has organised another event in the city centre which will allow local school children the opportunity to enjoy a mini-masterclass in five essential trades to the traditional building sector.
School children from across Glasgow will be given a mini-masterclass from local apprentices at both West Scotland College and City of Glasgow College, overseen by lecturers from the colleges.
Homeowners will also be given the opportunity ask questions about how to repair and maintain their traditionally built homes. With 20% of Scotland’s homes being traditionally built (pre 1919) and 67% of these having been identified as not being wind and watertight (Scottish Housing Condition Survey 2016) this event in the city centre will give local homeowners an idea opportunity to discuss issues and seek guidance from professionals in the area.
