Each pupil will have the opportunity to have a ‘hands on’ taster session of each skill. \n  \nThe traditional skills included are as follows: \n\nStone Masonry\nSlating\nJoinery\nPainting and decorating\n\nThe event is open to all and includes an information and exhibition tent which will be available throughout the two day event. It will feature careers information about training and jobs in traditional trades and information about caring for traditional buildings from CITB\, Falkirk THI\, Falkirk Council and Historic Environment Scotland. It will also have information for home owners regarding their rights and responsibilities in repairing and maintaining their own homes and also working together with other owners with whom they share a common interest to repair and maintain the common parts of their buildings. \n  \nThis event is particularly focussed on raising the profile of traditional building skills; inspiring young people and also raising their awareness of the career opportunities which are available in this field.
